When we talked about whether writing for Demand Studios is worth it, I mentioned a couple of things that were definitely not worth it.  But, I also mentioned that I still write for them today.  So, how do you make writing for Demand Studios worth it?

If you aren’t familiar with Demand Studios, then you need to read the article linked above.  But, here are the basics in a nutshell.  If you need to know How Much Demand Studios Pays.

1. You sign up for Demand Studios and are accepted.
2. They allow you to write only certain kinds of articles.  (It used to be only How-To articles, but I’m betting you can do fact sheets and maybe the revenue sharing articles today.)
3. They assign you a maximum number of articles you can claim at any time.  (When I started it was 5.)
4. You look at the article titles that are available, and you claim up to your maximum.
5. You have 5 days to write the articles or they “expire”.
6. Once submitted, your articles go to an editor who approves, rejects, or asks for a rewrite.  You only get one rewrite if they don’t accept it after the rewrite it is automatically rejected.
7. After your article is accepted, that article gets taken off of your claimed list and you can claim another article.
8. If you write enough quality articles they may increase your maximum limit.  This is not a given, and it is at Demand Studios discretion only without any published guidelines so you might get more, you might not.
9. You get paid weekly for all PUBLISHED articles.
10. You get nothing for articles that are rejected after the rewrite.
11. You have to put your articles into their web-based template, so if you write them in Word or something else, you will have to copy and paste them into the sections.

How To Make Money Writing Online for Demand Studios

So, how do you make writing for Demand Studios worth it?

Simple.  Volume and speed.

I’ve already told you not to bother with the $5 articles.  (If you do, fine, but don’t come crying to me about it not being worth it.)  And, until there is some data about how the revenue sharing articles actually pay, I wouldn’t bother with them either.

That means you will be making $15 per article.  You have to write two per hour MINIMUM to make that worth more than sending out resumes or marketing your business.  You should really be shooting for 3 per hour, and as you get better at it, 4 per hour should be your goal.  This includes all “administrative” time like finding new articles to write, rewrites, and getting the articles into the forms and submitting them. So, you have to work fast.
