Internet Explorer Is a Big Fat Piece of Junk

I’m sorry, but what the heck?

Microsoft finds itself more under siege every day as a “can’t do” software vendor.  From the blundering failure that is Windows Vista, to its “me too” status in online applications, only its monopoly on PC operating systems and the MS Office suite have kept it from plunging into the world of software also-rans.  And yet, they won’t make a decent web browser that renders pages according to the standards that everyone else in the world plays by.

No, I’m not the first person to see this happen, and I won’t be the last, but for all the effort I put into my business, you’d like to thing that the “integrated” browser forced upon the world by a large software vendor wouldn’t make it even harder just by refusing to accept the overwhelming standards and desires of the entire world.

As you can tell, I think IE is a piece of junk, so I use Firefox.  But, every once and a while, for whatever reason, I end up running IE for a little while.  Usually it isn’t too painful, but I always switch back when it ends up being incapable of doing something the way I want to.

Today, I happened to make it here to ArcticLlama using the turd-browser and guess what?  Despite all the effort I put into making sure this site looked good in all browsers (including the class dunce IE), some change I have made since (all very minor adjustments, thank you very much) has turned the great Redmond “browser” into a simpering pool of day-old canned dog food.

Yes, I am very, very, very bitter.  Please, for the sake of the Internet and your own happiness, please download Firefox or Chrome or Safari or Opera and stop using Internet Bungler (officially titled Internet Explorer).

Arrrgggghhhhh!  Can’t you guys do ANYTHING right?

If anyone needs me I’ll be tweaking to get the remedial browser to work.  Thanks for nothing Microsoft.

Update:  It had something to do with a <br /> that was used for better spacing.  I dumbed it down, and voila.  Works with the dumbest browser.
